What to do when you dont know what to do.

What to do when you don’t know what to do.

Have you ever been at a crossroad in your life? Didn’t know what to do, where to turn or who to turn to? YUP. We have all been there. Don’t worry everyone experiences this at some point in their life. Being in this stage in your life is not bad. It’s what you do when you are in this stage that matters. What happens when you are in the crossroad will determine what direction you take. As christians sometimes its even harder when we are in this stage because we ultimately want to glorify God in whatever direction we take. We do not make moves on our own, but we want God to be pleased with our ever move. So what do we do?

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;”

Philippians 4:6

Take a deep breath. A lot of times we become anxious about our situation and we allow those feelings to cloud our judgement. We are not able to process the situation appropriately because we are anxious about it. Again, take a deep breath. STOP for a moment and remember…

“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”

Psalm 46:10

We forget in that very moment that we are children of God. That He will not forsaken us even when we find ourselves in the hardest places in life. Even in our confusion, He is still GOD.

GOD > problems

“Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Psalm 55:22

Remember the Lord’s goal is not to stress you out. If He brought you to a certain stage in your life, He has an exit. TRUST Him. He knows what He is doing.

SURRENDER

Surrender your will.

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. “

Galatians 2:20

It is no longer about you, but it is about HIM. We can’t base our decisions on how we feel or what we desire. Ultimately, it is the father’s will that will prevail.

“A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.

Proverbs 16:9

“saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

Luke 22:42

Everything that is in front of us should be surrendered to the Lord’s will. For His burden is light.

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

You will immediately feel peace in your spirit once you stop stressing and being anxious about it, because ultimately it’s the Lord’s will. Come before the Lord in prayer and fasting and let the Lord know. Talk to God. Tell Him how you feel. He is not just our God but He is also our friend. Let the Lord know you don’t know what way to go. The Holy Spirit will guide you and direct you if you truly desire to do the Lord’s will in your life. Let Him know you are laying down your desires to do His will. Once we completely surrender it all, the Lord can now step in and do His will. However, we truly have to make sure our hearts are not attached to something. It will do us no good if in our heart we desire something and then we go before the Lord asking for guidance. God can’t operate because your heart is attached to something already. Surrender your heart before the Lord today. Tell the Lord “Take my heart, take my mind, take my soul, never let me go”. Surrender everything before His presence.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

    I was chronic worry wart. Now I do what I can within reason then let go. For example last weekend my son went to Florida with a group of friends by car from Michigan to attend a concert and camp out. He’s twenty five, just barely taking care of his business and a bit of a risk taker. Six years ago, before I became a believer I would have insane with worry. But now I pray and let go. He returned. He didn’t tell me and I didn’t call. I saw his post on Facebook. Well do peek!
