Hi Y’all!! I wanted to make a blog about my top 10 favorite baby items! I know being a first time can be overwhelming and a lot of times you don’t even know what you will really use or need. Below are my top 10 fav items thus far! Right now I have a 3 month old and these items have been a life saver!
- Fisher-price Rock n’ play sleeper
The first few weeks Mali was pretty small for this so I would keep a very close eye on her. She slept a lot so I did not use it as much but now that she is 3 months old we use it daily. It’s great for her to watch her cartoons (veggie tales LOL) or if I am cooking and need her close by.
2. Soothie pacifiers
Alright these are a life saver!! I decided that I didn’t want to use pacifiers when she was born and I think I made it through 2 days without one and then gave in. LOL These are the best and help soothe your baby when they are sleeping or when you are getting things ready to feed them. (They can get very anxious around feeding time.) I also read that studies have been done and pacifier at night time can actually reduce the risk of SIDS.
3. Columbia backpack diaper bag
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this diaper bag! It is so easy to carry and so much lighter on your back then the usual messenger bag or arm bags. The only con is that it isn’t the biggest bag ever but you can definitely work with it. It has many compartments. I also like the little clip on feature that allows you to clip it on to your stroller #WIN. No one is trying to carry this around at the mall LOL.
4. Boppy
I mean come on…. YOU KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO BE ON THE LIST!! These are heaven sent. I highly recommend buying this as you do not want your arms to fall off while you are carrying your baby. There will be a lot of that once the baby arrives. It is also super comfortable to use this while you are on the rocking chair in the nursery. Free’s up your hands a bit!
5. Evenflo pivot modular travel system (Casual grey/ sandstone)
Okay this stroller is AMAZING! I absolutely love it. It is so LIGHT WEIGHT! I can literally drive this bad boy with one arm. The car seat itself is SUPER light weight as well. We all know how heavy these but this one is not! I have the casual grey because the sandstone was out of stock when I purchased mine (4 weeks to due date) and I couldn’t take the risk of waiting around for the manufacturer to restock.
6. JJ Cole car seat cover (pink)
This is the best for us New England! This keeps the baby super warm and you do not have to worry about bundling your little one up so much in the car seat (IS DANGEROUS! BABIES CAN OVER HEAT).
7. SwaddleMe Swaddle
Man oh man! What would I do without these? Probably would be crying in a corner in the fetal position! These are the best to get your little newborn package to stay down and sleep through the night in their bassinet. Babies like to feel secured when sleeping and a lot of times will get startled easily with their own arms and will then wake up. If you want peace of mind and a good nights rest… TRY THESE! My baby will not sleep for long periods of time unless she is wrapped up in one of these. We tried swaddling her with a blanket but once we found she had released herself from the swaddle and the blanket was over her face (YES, I PANICKED!!!). Thank God our baby has been so alert since day 1 and she was moving her face around and we were right there to catch it. Never again did I swaddle her with a blanket. I have been using these and I can sleep in peace knowing nothing will go over her face and she sleeps longer! #WIN
8. Car seat canopy
This has been the best car seat canopy! It is thick and covers all areas to protect your baby from the cold/ wind. In New England its a must! 9. Baby Dove wash
This product is AMAZING and smells so GOOD!! Leaves baby skin super soft and moisturized. I love this!
10. Baby Bjorn
In the last few weeks this has become a favorite of mine. My baby now wants to be carried all the time throughout the day but momma has thangs to do so, I just strap her on and keep it moving!
