
Now I know you have all heard what everyone is talking about! CELERY JUICE! You have seen me post about this for the last month and challenge you. Shout out to all my graceloveandcurls babies that are doing this challenge currently (#graceloveandcurlscelerychallenge). Yes, its the talk in town, everyone wants to drink it and everyone is drinking it. But why exactly? Let’s first break down what the benefits of celery juice are and then we can get into what I experienced when I drank it for 30 days.
The benefits of celery juice are:

So, in other words everyone should be drinking celery juice. I am sure in reading this list there is at least 1 thing that catches your attention or something you need help fighting. I was automatically hooked once I read this list.
Why was I intrigued to try celery juice?
Lately I had been breaking out a lot and getting what I believe was hormonal cystic acne. It was just not clearing up. I had been trying different acne medications for the past couple months and just nothing was working and the acne would leave and come back and I was just sick of it! For those wondering yes, I had seen a dermatologist before and all I received from them was oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics or retinol. To be honest I did not want to completely wipe out my gut health with antibiotics and I did not want to take chemicals when they did nothing for me and I was still breaking out. I wanted to try and fight this as natural as possible. So I knew I had to work from the inside out. I had tried all the topical medications I could and nothing seemed to help. After many hours of research online I came to the conclusion that it must be something deeper that was causing my acne. I decided to start taking evening prime rose oil to balance out my hormones (separate blog post on this in the works), which in hopes would cure my acne. I also decided I would start the celery juice challenge after hearing wonderful reviews on it for acne. I was determined to get rid of this acne that had been haunting me for so long on and off.
How did you make the celery juice?
So, I rushed to my local supermarket and decided this was something I was going to do. I went and purchased organic celery. I highly recommend organic celery because you do not want to juice and intake a bunch of pesticides that could do more harm than good. I am even very cautious with organic celery so I made sure I washed thoroughly (You can never be too sure). I would soak in baking soda for at least 15 minutes to make sure the celery was as clean as possible. I usually buy 4-5 bunches at a time so it can last me about a week. Now I know people do different things and different amounts when it comes to celery juice , but this is what I did to yield the results I received. DISCLAIMER: I am not an expert. I encourage you to do your own research, speak to your doctors, and figure out what works for you. I did not use a juicer as I did not have one available. I used my ninja blender and it worked just fine for me. I would chop up 2 cups of celery and use 1-1.5 cups of water. I would then blend it and strain it (make sure to strain well so you can get the maximum amount of celery juice).
When would you drink the celery juice?
From the information I gathered online, mornings are best! So I went ahead and had my celery juice every morning as soon as I woke up. I would wait 30 minutes after drinking the celery juice before introducing any food. I wanted to make sure to let the celery do the job it needed to do. I wanted to make sure I received maximum results.
What was your first impression of the celery juice?
Alright now, this is not for the faint in heart. BAHAHA! Okay! Β I know what y’all gonna say…. “EWWW CELERY IS GROSS! HOW COULD YOU DRINK THAT?”. LISTEN! I went through hell and back trying to heal this acne! I was willing to do whatever! To me the potential benefits outweighed the cons. It’s not the best drink in the world but y’all it’s totally not that bad! The first couple days are the worst but after the initial shock, it really is not that bad! I would just chug it down every morning and try not to think about it. After about 1 full week, it pretty much was like water to me.
What were your initial benefits?
Alright day 1 I definitely felt it. I say this because it absolutely had my guts saying a thing or two…. hahaha!! This however, is a great sign! Don’t be scared! Your body is being detoxed and this is a form of being detoxed. I noticed that same day I started that I did not feel bloated whatsoever! This is huge for me because I did suffer with bloating every now and then depending on what I ate in that day. I felt light as a feather that first day. It was a really good feeling!
What were your final results/ thoughts?
Alright! I know you are all here for this last question! My final results! Okay so here it goes…I RECOMMEND CELERY JUICE TO EVERYONE!! Like everyone should be on celery juice for EVER! This celery juice completely eradicated my hormonal acne (this in combination with a few other things like facials (shout out to my esthetician @herbareskinco), decreasing dairy consumption and hormone balancers). I was getting very painful big zits on my face and those were gone… nothing but a bad memory! I am so happy!! My skin also felt really smooth after the first week. Not sure why but my skin feels like a babies butt. Hahaha! Again, could be a combination of all the things I started doing…but I know for sure the celery juice helped me tremendously. My energy is at another level in the mornings! I feel so energized and can power through the day. Sis or bro, if you need an energy booster…go get you some celery juice. If you are addicted to coffee…sis/bro rebuke that and go swap it out for celery juice LOL! Another benefit I have noticed is that I rarely get any bloating ever since starting celery juice! This is huge for me! This will literally be all I recommend to everyone all the time. Whatever your problem is…sis/bro…just drink celery juice. It will take care of it LOL! Kinda like hispanics with vapor rub…well I’ll be like that with celery juice. HAHA! Also, I know many of you want to know if it helps with weight loss. All I can say to this is I was not dieting or exercising and I did lose about 4 lbs or so but most importantly maintained my weight. So definitely worth a shot!
Well, there you have it! Those are my final thoughts! I will absolutely continue to drink celery juice. There are too many amazing benefits for me to discontinue!

Yes!! Itβs so good! Only 7 days in but I definitely see less bloating and more energy through the day!
