90 day Fiance/Bride

Well, this happened.

2016 was a great year with many challenges, but even greater victories.

I married the man of my dreams…in 90 days.

Yup, I did the whole planning, coordinating, decorating and walking down the aisle in 3 months. (Actually I technically did it in 2 months because the first month I was waiting for my engagement ring (rolling eyes). )

So, you are all asking yourselves how did this little 5’4 and 3/4 Latina pull off a full blown wedding in 60 days? Well, all I can say is “God was FAITHFUL“. From beginning to the end. He orchestrated the whole thing from day 1 to day 60. Alright, I will try and make this as brief as possible. I may need to do it in sections! Please let me know what you would like to know in more detail and I can elaborate on it in a different blog post.

THE TALK

Everyone knows what I am talking about. The marriage talk with your boyfriend, some go better than others. My wonderful now husband lived in NY and we were doing the long distance thing for about a year at this juncture (Friendship for about 4 years), when he decided that it was time to move to MA to be with his mamacita (okay I’m putting words in his mouth…. YOU CAUGHT ME!) My husband always wanted to start over somewhere new and he loved me and felt it was right to do so. We prayed for a few months, in the beginning we did not see any doors open in our favor. We agreed that the timing was off and that it was not the Lord’s will for the moment. A few months later, (fast forward to August) the Lord opened the door we were not expecting to open. We made the decision that this was the right time to go ahead and move in faith. So we did!

Fast forward, a few weeks/ 1 month after moving to MA we had “THE TALK”. We loved each other greatly and felt that we were ready to take the leap and get married. We wanted to please God in all that we did. We felt in our spirit that the Lord was calling us to marry. It was a mutual feeling. Although, we would later find out that God meant soon as in like SOON, as in like ASAP, as in like yesterday…. LOL. So, at first my husband was hesitant to do a wedding with such short notice, however when DADDY AKA JESUS AKA SAVIOR AKA MY HOME SKILLET AKA MY REDEEMER AKA JEHOVAH JIREH …(Should I continue? LOL) speaks his word must be fulfilled. God began to open so many doors! It was incredible to see, he was blessing us left and right! He would give words of revelation to his Prophets to confirm this word. We were in AWE! So, we decided to go for it! I said, let’s aim for November (mind you it was August at that time). He said, “NO WAY! We will not be able to pull it together for then.” I said, “WATCH ME!”-jk! I didn’t but it’s pretty much what I did. I told my now husband that I would search for venues and if we found a good venue for November we would go ahead and take it. My husband agreed.

So, my wedding venue hunt began. Oh BTW, we still weren’t technically “engaged”. He had the ring since before moving to MA, but was waiting for the “right time” to do it. So, I was hunting for venues and came across a few good ones. (Oh, btw I had my whole wedding planned and decorated on Pinterest a few months prior to all this happening, so oh man I was ready to make it happen). I immediately came across my function hall online and it dawned on me that I had completely forgotten about this little vintage gem in Haverhill, MA. I actually had gone to a wedding there a few years back, but had no recollection of it. I immediately went online and contacted the event coordinator of the hall. When I asked him what dates he had available in November. He quickly replied that the only Saturday he had available in November was the 19th.  I had a mix of emotions running through my mind. I was excited, happy, nervous, etc.

That same weekend I went to view the venue and my heart was captivated. It was the perfect vintage venue for my Great Gatsby adventure wedding. I told my husband about it. Although, he freaked out at first because “THINGS JUST GOT REAL”, we were able to quickly get super excited and get super active in the planning process. That same weekend I put the down payment on the venue and locked it in! We were having a wedding on November 19th, regardless of what anyone had to say about it! I quickly gathered my wedding crew (my girllllssssssss) and started the planning process.

2- 3 weeks later I found my perfect dress!! Cried and everything y’all….them bridal shows are REAL! I had only tried on maybe a total of less than 10 dresses. I knew immediately when I put it on that it was MY dress! My now husband did eventually actually propose HAHA on 9/4/16 (in case you were wondering).  After that the rest was history. With a lot of help and support from our friends and families we were able to have the best wedding a bride could ask for. It was such a great experience. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. God showed me his faithfulness through this process. When we lacked, He was plenty. He provided for us every single step of the way. From beginning to end my heavenly Father was present.

We want to thank everyone that gave us their support. Our family, bridal party and friends we love you and we thank you for all of your hard work. To those that traveled from far or near, we appreciate you. We are beyond blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives. Although, it was  a small wedding (compared to how much people we both know) it was a great time. We wished many more could have joined us on our special day, but please know that everyone that is in our lives is special and we love you all as well

ENJOY
