________________________________________________________________________________________

Let’s start with defining what anxiety is….

Anxiety – a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

The Psychiatric definition is…

Anxiety- a nervous disorder characterized by a state of excessive uneasiness and apprehension, typically with compulsive behavior or panic attacks.

In order to target a problem and resolve it one must first acknowledge it and call it out by name. I want you to grab a mirror (any mirror), and I want you to look into it and keep it for the rest of this blog. Looking into the mirror I want you to voice out “Anxiety”. Go ahead and give it a name. For too long you have been hiding and scared to name it. Fear no longer. Call it out by its name. You can only overcome something that has a name. As you look into the mirror I want you to say “Anxiety I call you out by your name. You will no longer control my life. I come in the name of Jesus Christ and you have no legal right over my life any longer.”

ANXIETY TRIED TO DEFEAT YOU BUT TODAY YOU WILL DEFEAT IT! YOU WILL NO LONGER BE BOUND TO THE FEELING OF ANXIETY. IT WILL NO LONGER RULE YOUR LIFE.

  1. Anxiety defined by the regular dictionary is a FEELING of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

The word of God tells me:

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

-2 Corinthians 10:5

Every feeling develops because there was a thought first. The word of God tells me if I can control the thoughts that I let enter my mind, then I can control my emotions and feelings. His word says to “take every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”. Every negative word has to be obedient to Christ. You can’t dwell on these negative thoughts or let them create roots. Once they create roots, that is when the emotions and feelings become a problem. As soon as you have a thought that can lead to anxiety recite this verse and declare you have the mind of Christ and every negative thought has to be obedient to Christ in the name of Jesus. We must learn to cast down every word and thought that is not edifying and that will not build us up.

2. Now the psychiatric definition tells me that it’s a “disorder“. A nervous disorder characterized by a state of excessive uneasiness and apprehension, typically with compulsive behavior or panic attacks.

What does the word of God tell me:

33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people

-1 Corinthians 14:33

Now if the word of God is telling me that He is not a God of disorder then that tells me there is a disorder in my life and God’s intention for my life is that I may have peace and order in my life. We need to rebuke all disorder from our lives and declare that our God is a God of order and no disorder will reign in our lives in Jesus name.

3. Declare you have the mind of Christ!

for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

-1 Corinthians 2:16

You are a daughter or son of God! You have the mind of Christ and everything that tries to challenge that has to submit to the order of God!

4. What doe the bible tells us to do when feel anxiety is trying to reign in our hearts?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

-Philippians 4:6-7

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!

A PRAYER A DAY KEEPS THE DEVIL AWAY!

God will give you the peace you are seeking through prayer!

5. Take the word of God as your sword to defeat Anxiety!

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

– Matthew 11:28-30

In the Lord you shall find rest, rest that surpasses anything else. I want you to look at your mirror again and declare, “I am a daughter of God, I will no longer be shaken or bond or imprisoned by the spirit of Anxiety! I declare I am set free by the blood of Christ, I declare the there is power in His word and He has promised me a life of freedom, He has promised rest for my soul. I declare freedom in my mind in Jesus name!”.

Remember this word and let’s move forward in the Lord!

Enjoy this worship song below! Remember it’s not by might or by power, it’s by HIS spirit that we are able to overcome.
